sorrola landscape study.

 

O lord, environments. Landscapes, My nightmare.. Well... I an not well versed in the art of environments. Especially painting them! I have tried to go out and sketch environments from life but only once I have gone out with my gouaches to paint from life.. I have tried a few studies from photos but never really in depth. 

So with this I really wanted to see what I could do. I first took the image and then try to break down the shapes, this piece is broken down into thirds where the tops of the mountains lay ans the bottom of the mountain hits the center lines. However while drawing to draw this I think I messed it up the proportions of .. well everything. Since I kept trying to even things out. I really struggled with the proportions. I also tried to get the colour sense nice. However looking at it now I realise the oranges might be too strong. I think sometimes I am too excited when it comes to colour since with digital theres no limits. I think for my next one I might try and use traditional paints instead of digital! 

I know I have a lot to improve but I will keep pushing!! Onwards and upwards!
