adventures in blender..

Long time no see blogger, so much has happened in the past two years,
I finished my masters with a first! and then I went through a very extreme case of burn out where i decided to make the dramatic decision to move to Japan, i threw myself into a 6 month contract where I worked in a hotel gift shop in the great mountains of Fukushima, in a small village in the middle of nowhere. I had finally achieved the cottage core dream. However, being a 45 minute drive from society in a small compound surrounded by bears and 20 inches of snow, I really really missed society. Now I leave the house every day and visit family mart just to feel something. And, I got over my burn out!
Now living in the greater Tokyo area I am now on the hunt for work. So now I spend my days studying Japanese and desperately learning new skills to get me hired (as well as getting inspired by the beauty of the world around me).
So naturally, I want to learn new programs and skills. So I picked up blender, opened up some tutorials and got to work.

DAY 1

My first ever sculpt, following a tutorial

My second sculpt, on the same day, remembering what I learnt from the tutorial.

DAY 2

following the tutorial

going the tutorial from my head

DAY 3
following the tutorial
doing the tutorial from my head

They look really funky at the moment, and not in a good way. I would like to really keep pushing it. At the moment I am clicking on random youtube tutorials but I think I may branch out and get a mentor, or find a community of people who can show me their ways and critique me.
