Bobby Chiu digital painting class assignment 1!

A new year approaching and a new subscription to schoolism! I missed having it, but ready to jump straight back in with the new year. Most of last year I practiced a lot of drawing so I thought that this year i could practice a bit of painting (Along side still practicing drawing) but I felt like my painting skills have been a little awful recently so I think it will be fun to practice!

In terms of my uni work, I have chosen to work on my FMP over both of my uni terms. The first term I spent focusing on drawing and design, incorporating perspective, structure and line weight. in second term I will still being practicing this but I will be making the concept sheets, the concept illustrations and the story boarding. But for the concept sheets and illustrations I will need painting skills.

So starting with this first class, where Bobby went over the photoshop hot keys and how to play with the brush settings and so forth, As a clip studio paint user... things where a little different in terms of controlling flow and opacity. There for to over come this I downloaded a few photoshop brushes and transferred them over to clip studio where I could control the density and the opacity. I found it really fun in the end once i got the brushes going! I used a hard round for all of this and it was a really helpful experience practicing brush settings and pen pressure. I practiced it over a few days, so I knew I had it down! I did find it pretty hard but I think it really helped.
